DIESEL MECHANIC – FULL TIME – BOROUGH OF POINT PLEASANT
Seeking a candidate for the Department of Public Works as a full-time Diesel Mechanic. Requirements of the position include a valid NJ CDL class B or higher and a clean driving and criminal history record. One (1) year training in diesel engine repair at an accredited community college or vocational school. A minimum of two years’ experience. Possession of a certificate as a diesel mechanic issued by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence may be substituted for one (1) year of formal training. Previous public works experience is preferred but not required. Duties to include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of diesel-powered engines including heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, gas powered vehicles, small engine repairs, welding/ fabrication, and snow removal. The successful applicant will be required to have a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment. This is a full-time 40hr a week position that may require overtime to be performed in times of emergency. The Borough of Point Pleasant seeks a full-time Chief Financial Officer who holds a New Jersey CMFO license with 5+ years’ experience in a municipal finance office as the Chief Financial Officer or Assistant CFO. Candidates holding a QPA certification are preferred. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or a similar field. Advanced degrees are preferred. Along with a $24.5 million current fund, the Borough operates a $7.5 million water & sewer utility. Duties of the CFO include but are not limited to annual operating and capital budget preparation and maintenance, Annual Financial and Debt Statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, debt management, cash management, grant reporting, pension reporting, payroll processing and purchasing. The CFO position manages two employees who assist with the duties of the Finance Office’s day-to-day operations. The CFO position reports to the Borough Administrator and the successful candidate must be able to work well in a team environment collaboratively with the Administrator, other department heads and elected officials. Experience with GFMS, Edmunds and Primepoint is a plus. The CFO position falls the local bargaining unit contract. Point Pleasant is a Civil Service Municipality. Please submit
