There are multiple Part-time positions available for the Point Borough Recreation Preschool for the School Year 2020/2021.

Preschool Teacher

Fulfill all employee requirements—Pediatric CPR, Fingerprints, CARI check, etc. Complete required CEU’s. Complete detailed lesson plans. Prepare all supplies and equipment during planning time. Attend regular staff meetings. Treat students, parents, and staff with courtesy and respect and relay any difficulties or concerns to the head teacher/director in a timely manner. Treat all school matters as confidential to protect students, parents and staff.  Know and follow all school policies and state issued guidelines for preschool. Maintain one bulletin board and display student’s artwork regularly. Communicate any problems, concerns, questions or suggestions about any of the above with the head teacher/director in a timely manner. These positions are either Monday, Wednesday and Fridays or Tuesday and Thursdays.

 

Assistant Head Teacher

Have a BA Degree in Education or Psychology plus two years’ experience in a preschool classroom. Be willing to complete “Understanding Licensing” training class provided by NJ State Department of Children & Families. Assist the head teacher in implementing the center’s child development and activities program.  Assist the head teacher in ensuring that program activities are appropriate to both the age and developmental level of the children served.  Assist the head teacher in creating weekly curriculum themes for Kinderschool and preparing monthly calendars and parent communication. Assist the head teacher in creating and implementing weekly curriculum and lesson plans for Little Learners and preparing monthly calendars and parent communication. Assist the head teacher with scheduling and preparing for special events. Maintain records of staff training and professional development requirements. Maintain and order supplies.

 

Substitute Preschool Teacher

Fulfill all employee requirements— Fingerprints, CARI check, etc. Treat students, parents, and staff with courtesy and respect and relay any difficulties or concerns to the head teacher/director in a timely manner. Treat all school matters as confidential to protect students, parents and staff. Know and follow classroom safety rules. Communicate any problems, concerns, questions or suggestions about any of the above with the head teacher/director in a timely manner. This position is on an as needed basis.
