Recycling Information

The following materials are picked up curbside.  Materials must be out at the curb prior to 5:30 am on the morning of your scheduled collection day.  Refer to the map below and the Town Planner Calendar for your recycling collection day.  Call 732-892-1287 with any questions.

Single Stream Recycling – Curbside Collection

The following items must be mixed together loosely (no plastic bags, no bundles, no string, and no tape) in the same rigid container.  Containers must weigh less than 50 lbs. and have a lid on top.  We suggest you use 30 gallon containers or smaller.

  • Glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans
  • Corrugated cardboard, newspapers, mixed paper, magazines, junk mail, and soft covered books
  • Clean aluminum foil and aluminum food containers.
  • Chipboard- cereal boxes, food boxes, tissue boxes, paper towel and toilet paper rolls.
  • Plastics 1,2, and 5 butter and yogurt containers, fast food plastic beverage cups and lids, all  items must be clean prior to adding to the recycling stream.

All of the above must fit into your recycling containers
Large Cardboard that is flattened must be taken to the Recycling Center
Businesses must bring all cardboard to the Recycling Center

**Phone books and hard cover books must be recycled at the Arthur Avenue Recycling Center.

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 3:45 pm
Saturday 9:00 am – 2:45 pm
Sundays (March – December) 9:00 am – 11:50 am

Attendants are on duty to assist you
Be prepared to show I.D.

The Arthur Avenue Recycling Center accepts all curbside materials plus: empty paint cans (lids removed), cell phones, rechargeable batteries, car batteries, hard covered books, phone books, computers, televisions, electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, shrink wrap, metal/white goods, large corrugated cardboard, leaves, brush, tires (after $2.00 disposal fee is paid at Borough Hall), and textiles/clothing.

Household trash, construction debris, wood, concrete, asphalt, dirt, sand, stones, clean fill, sod, and grass clippings are NEVER accepted at the Recycling Center.

Town Planner Calendars and Recycling Stickers (for your cans) are available at the Recycling Center, Borough Hall, and the Department of Public Works Office located at 730 Albert Clifton Avenue.
