Borough of Point Pleasant – Mayor Sabosik, through the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, has an excellent scholarship opportunity for High School Juniors and Seniors from Point Pleasant Borough.

There are three $1,000.00 scholarships that will be available through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition.  This statewide scholarship competition centers on the theme “What My Municipal Government Does Best” and seeks to advance the virtues of elected and volunteer members of the municipal government.

If you are interested, download the application packet below and have your essays submitted to the office of the Mayor/Administrator, 2233 Bridge Avenue, Point Pleasant NJ 08742 or emailed to fpannucci@ptboro.com by March 10th 2018.  Finalists will then be picked and sent to the New Jersey League of Municipalities for consideration in the Statewide competition and three winners will be picked in May 2018.

According to Mayor Sabosik “It is important to introduce our students to the importance of local service.  When you serve at the local level, you effect the lives and direction of your community at a very intimate level and we want our students to learn the importance of what your local government does and how best they can be involved.  This scholarship is an opportunity to help introduce them to that process.”
