NJ STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CLOSING RT. 13 STATE BRIDGE (LOVELANDTOWN / BRIDGE AVENUE) FOR REPAIR WORK

Please be advised that the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation recently notified the Borough of Point Pleasant that they will be doing necessary maintenance and repairs to the Route 13 State Bridge.  Locally, this bridge is known as the Loveland Town Bridge or the Bridge Avenue Bridge.  According to State officials, this work is time sensitive and crucial for maintaining the long-term structural integrity and safety of the bridge.

The State of New Jersey Department of Transportation has informed us that this work will be commencing on January 5, 2026 and will last approximately 4 – 8 weeks.  During this time, the State will be closing the bridge permanently to all through traffic.

The Borough of Point Pleasant has met with all emergency personnel and first responders to plan and make sure there will be continual coverage to all parts of town as the bridge will not be passable during this time.

The State of New Jersey Department of Transportation will be posting detour signs and routing traffic via Bay Avenue and Route 88.

Should anyone have any questions or concerns, please contact the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation as this is a State project on a State bridge.
