The Point Pleasant Borough Summer Youth Camp is an out reach program that provides opportunities for local Point Pleasant boys and girls to experience a unique youth Police Academy experience. The Summer Youth Camp builds a positive communication between the police and the youth of Point Pleasant. The program is offered to residents between the ages of 11 and 13 years. Participants take part in a community-policing program that will educate and inspire them by introducing them to an array of activities related to Law Enforcement. Instructors will utilize discipline and rigors that replicate the expectations of a recruit entering the traditional Police Academy. Participants are also introduced to other critical aspects of Law Enforcement through communication and interaction with additional agencies within the community. They are as follows: the Ocean County Sheriff Department, the Point Pleasant First Aid/ MONOC, Point Pleasant Fire Department, and the New Jersey State Police. The Point Pleasant Police Camp Advisors instill a solid foundation within the camper thus enabling them to understand what it means to be a responsible and respected citizen. The experiences that are afforded to the youth create memories and enable them to become continuous positive contributors to the community.

This two-week program is held at the end of July and culminates with a graduation ceremony like no other. The Program has been free of charge since it was established in 2004. This program has remained a part of the Point Pleasant Police Departments tradition ever since. Interested candidates should to apply at Point Pleasant Police Headquarters.
